Overnight Student Supervisor / Night Chaperone: Rockville, MD (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027)

About the role

Night Chaperones monitor student conduct, respond to emergencies, and report suspicious activity on assigned hotel floors during nighttime hours (9:45 PM to 5:00 AM). Team Members ensure a high-quality experience for students and educators while collaborating closely with the Night Chaperone Coordinator and Onsite Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Treat customers, vendors, and fellow employees with honesty, respect, and professionalism.
• Provide the highest level of safety for all participants while on tour.
• Actively monitor assigned hotel floors from 9:45 PM to 5:00 AM. (required)
• Present a professional image—remain courteous, positive, and helpful.
• Follow proper procedure while working on assigned floors, including checking in/out of the hotel, introducing yourself to Program Leaders and groups, and escalation protocol.
• Maintain a professional relationship with students at all times. (required)

Requirements

• Availability in October and November, and in the spring from February–June, during peak season. (required)
• Willingness to commute to on-site locations in the Rockville, Maryland area.
• Ability to work well with students, teachers, vendors, and WorldStrides staff as a team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word and Excel), email, and smartphone use.
• Use of sensory skills (seeing, reading, talking, hearing) to effectively communicate and interact with others. (required)
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, including walking up and down numerous flights of stairs with or without reasonable accommodation. (required)
• Successful completion of applicable background screening. (required)

Pay

Maryland Pay Range: $18 USD per hour.
