Position Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and resort property. This role supports the resort's commitment to exceptional guest service by maintaining a visible security presence, responding to emergencies, enforcing safety policies, and assisting other departments as needed to ensure smooth resort operations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Enforce all safety and security policies and procedures of Chaminade Resort & Spa and Benchmark while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
- Conduct preventive patrols throughout the property to reduce security risks and maintain a visible security presence.
- Monitor resort grounds, facilities, and public areas to ensure the safety of guests, employees, and property.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, incidents, and guest concerns.
- Provide assistance or obtain medical support for individuals in need of aid or emergency care.
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and other required documentation accurately and professionally.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest and employee information.
- Support compliance with all applicable liquor laws and resort policies.
- Assist with security training programs and safety awareness initiatives.
- Review and maintain security-related records and documentation.
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly while performing assigned duties.
- Work collaboratively with all resort departments and provide operational support when needed.
- Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
- Two years of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or related experience preferred, with hotel or resort experience strongly preferred.
- College coursework or degree in Safety, Security, Criminal Justice, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- First Aid and CPR Certification preferred (Instructor certification a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and service-oriented in emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be flexible and available to work a schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Willingness to assist other departments and adapt to changing business needs.
