About the Role

This position is responsible for ensuring resident safety and maintaining overall cleanliness of St. Margaret’s Shelter. The role includes duties as an Overnight Resident Supervisor and Housekeeper, along with adhering to agency policies and supporting the mission of Catholic Charities.

Responsibilities

  • Overnight Resident Supervisor:
    • Ensure the security system is armed.
    • Assist residents with urgent care issues and case management triaging as needed.
    • Ensure house rules are followed.
    • Maintain accurate nightly headcount of residents.
    • Update and maintain daily logs and agency records.
    • Provide leadership and appropriate response in emergencies.
  • Housekeeper:
    • Clean and prepare resident rooms for new move-ins, including sanitizing, vacuuming, dusting, and washing linens.
    • Perform daily cleaning duties such as vacuuming, trash removal, sanitizing, laundering, mopping, sweeping, recycling, and window washing.
    • Extensive nightly cleaning of the kitchen area to ensure sanitary conditions.
    • Manage cleanliness of the lobby and shuttle donations to storage areas.
    • Assist with other tasks as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of client protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Utilize communication tools (email, text, phone) and database practices as directed.
  • Act as a mandated reporter, following agency policies to report suspected or confirmed abuse or neglect.
  • Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  • Support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of prior housekeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates/Licenses: None required. Must successfully pass a background check applicable to the position.
  • Physical Abilities:
    • Regularly stand, climb, walk, hear/listen, and talk.
    • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop, and kneel.
    • Occasionally sit and crawl.
    • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, and ability to focus.
  • Mental & Other Skills/Abilities:

    • Analytical Ability: Maintain focus, complete research, synthesize complex information, and use intuition.
