Overnight Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker

AHL HealthCare Group is seeking a part-time or full-time Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (MHRW) or Behavioral Health Practitioner (BHP) to join our team at our IRTS facility near the UMD campus in Duluth. The job title and pay rate will be based on qualifications.

About the role

Schedule

  • Awake Overnight Shift (12am–8am), full-time
  • Every other weekend availability required

Pay

$19.00–$25.00/hour, depending on experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of consumer history, support plans, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping, reporting, and confidentiality.
  • Create and follow Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs), encouraging client participation through creative methods.
  • Assist clients with symptom management, employment, budgeting, scheduling medical appointments, and meal planning.
  • Document client progress objectively and professionally at the end of each shift.
  • Assist with paperwork for service continuation (e.g., Social Security).
  • Provide support and supervision as defined in ITPs, using therapeutic interventions while ensuring safety.
  • Assist with transportation services or teach clients to use public transportation.
  • Travel regularly in the community and transport recipients.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and strong communication skills.
  • Enjoys conducting groups and is an effective team member.
  • Must pass MVR, maintain a valid driver’s license, insurance, and background study clearance.
  • Prior IRTS experience preferred.

Qualifications

Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (MHRW)

  • Course Work Qualification:
    • High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or two years post-secondary education (15 semester hours total).
    • 30 hours of training in: recipient rights, recipient-centered ITP, behavioral terminology, motivational interviewing (MI), co-occurring disorders, psychotropic meds, functional assessment, community resources, adult vulnerability, and recipient confidentiality.
  • Life Experience Qualification (within the last 10 years):
    • 3 years personal life experience with serious and persistent mental illness (MI).
    • OR 3 years as primary caregiver to an adult with serious and persistent MI, traumatic brain injury (TBI), substance use disorder (SUD), or developmental disability (DD).
    • OR 2000 hours supervised paid work experience delivering adult MI or TBI services.
    • OR fluency in a non-English language spoken by 20% of recipients.
    • Receives monthly documented clinical supervision by a Mental Health Professional (MHP) during first 2000 hours of employment.

Behavioral Health Practitioner (BHP)

  • Course Work Qualification:
    • 30 semester hours in behavioral health or related field AND 2000 supervised hours.
    • OR completed practicum/internship in behavioral sciences or related field.
  • Work Experience Qualification:
    • 4000 supervised hours in behavioral health or related field.
    • OR 2000 supervised hours AND weekly clinical supervision from an MHP.
