Overnight Manager, Building Operations

About the role

The Overnight Manager oversees the building's overnight operations, supervising cleaning, mechanical, and temporary staff. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing construction and program-related projects, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating overnight staff.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate overnight staff
• Maintain accurate records for overnight staff, including attendance, vacation, sick, and personal time, disciplinary actions, backup staff call-in lists, and other departmental information
• Ensure adequate overnight staffing coverage and confirm completion of building responsibilities on time and according to required standards
• Work closely with other departments and supervisors to support building operations and resolve issues
• Respond promptly to building emergencies and take appropriate action
• Conduct daily quality control inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with egress and operational standards
• Complete daily inspection reports for review by Building Operations leadership
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• HD Diploma or equivalency required
• 3+ years’ experience in a managerial or facility operations environment
• Previous managerial experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team into achieving required service standards
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills dealing with a diverse population of personnel
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and record keeping skills
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to maintain inventory control databases and prepare departmental schedules, correspondence, reports, and budget spreadsheets
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Zoom
• Extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with building custodial operations, cleaning procedures, and maintenance technologies
• Basic knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and other basic mechanical skills
