Overnight Lab Tech

About the role

Poly-America, a leading plastics manufacturer, is seeking a Lab Technician to join our Quality Assurance and Testing Department. We produce several lines of polyethylene products, including high-quality trash bags, construction films, and geomembrane liners. As the most technologically advanced and largest recycler and compounder of polyethylene globally, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality polyethylene products. Our team of chemical, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers drives modern plastics technology, with our innovative design team responsible for breakthroughs in blown-film extrusion and bag making. We maintain one of the most sophisticated on-site labs in the plastics industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct work measurement and studies on plastic materials to ensure they meet pre-determined specifications.
• Create lab batches of product samples.
• Collect and analyze quality-related data.
• Execute test procedures to ensure the optimum use of raw materials in production-scale batches.
• Take on additional responsibilities and opportunities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Recent experience working in a laboratory or quality control/quality assurance role.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a night shift or day shift as assigned by management.
• Aptitude and desire to learn Poly-America processes, equipment, and procedures.
