About the role

Join our team as an Overnight Kennel Assistant and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and staff. You’ll provide compassionate care for boarding pets, including feeding, administering medications, and monitoring their well-being. This role involves general housekeeping, overseeing daycare dogs, and ensuring all facility areas are sanitized and well-stocked.

Responsibilities

  • Provide meals, medications, and walks for boarding patients as directed
  • Monitor and care for dogs in daycare, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Closely observe patients for medical, behavioral, or environmental concerns and document observations
  • Communicate any concerns promptly to the veterinary team
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, common areas, treatment spaces, and other facility areas
  • Sanitize and restock supplies in all areas of the facility
  • Monitor facility cameras overnight to ensure the safety of boarding and daycare patients
  • Identify potential concerns and alert appropriate team members

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant or kennel technician preferred (will consider related animal care experience, such as boarding, doggy daycare, FFA, or 4H)
  • Genuine passion for animal care and patient well-being
  • Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
  • Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques
  • Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean, safe environment
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role
  • Ability to stay attentive overnight while monitoring facility cameras and communicating patient concerns

Pay

$17.50 per hour

Schedule

Part-time, overnight position with availability required on Thursdays from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Potential to transition to full-time in the future.
