Overnight Floor Technician

About the role

As a Floor Technician at UG2, you will maintain, clean, and sanitize all floors, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet UG2 standards. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety, operate cleaning equipment, and organize and maintain supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care and cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing throughout the DMU campus and facilities
• Strip and refinish floors
• Extract carpets
• Remove and transport waste to proper disposal areas
• Maintain accurate floor care logs and checklists
• Keep inventory of equipment and supplies
• Aid in the on-the-job training of new staff
• Operate walk-behind scrubbers, walk-behind extractors, and swing buffers
• Steam clean upholstery
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Report any notable damages and concerns
• Adhere to workplace safety standards and use PPE as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Custodial or related experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
• Previous experience stripping and finishing a variety of floors including Terrazzo and VCT preferred
