Overnight Emergency Veterinarian DVM

About the role

VCA MidWest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is growing exponentially! Our facility is Nebraska’s only full-time, state-of-the-art specialty and emergency hospital, and we are seeking to add an Emergency Veterinarian to our team! We are looking to fill an overnight or swing shift!

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care services to hospitalized patients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results.
• Collaborate with board-certified specialists for complex cases.
• Teach and mentor veterinary students and interns.
• Participate in the ongoing development and operation of the emergency department.

Requirements

• Current students or recent graduates with a strong interest in emergency medicine.
• A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Nebraska.
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school.
• Completion of an ACVECC approved residency program in emergency and critical care.
• Board certification in emergency and critical care preferred.

Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems.
