About the role

The Overnight Awake Family Care Specialist provides overnight care and support to children in foster care. This role requires a deep commitment to the safety and well-being of the children under their care.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight care and supervision to children in foster care settings.
• Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the children under their care.
• Collaborate with foster families and other professionals to support the children’s needs.
• Document daily activities and observations in accordance with agency policies.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in a caregiving capacity.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care principles.
• Pass a background check and criminal history review.

Skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
