Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that aligns with the values of Hilltop's Assisted Living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1 (how we treat each other) and Service 2 (how we treat our residents), by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
  • Administer medications as outlined by physician orders by verifying medications to the Medication Administration Record.
  • Strictly follow the rights of medication administration process: right medication, right resident, right dose, right time, right route, right reason, and right documentation.
  • Promote and participate in positive customer relations by learning and using resident names, acknowledging residents and visitors, answering the phone as needed, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Follow all Corporate, Program, and State Medication Administration policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Monitor narcotic medications by counting all assigned narcotics prior to receiving control of the medication cart and conducting a narcotic count before transferring control.
  • Complete assigned documentation within prescribed timelines promptly, accurately, and legibly.
  • Report all medication errors immediately and complete the required documentation.
  • Clean assigned medication carts prior to the end of the shift by emptying trash, wiping down the cart, organizing medications, and replenishing supplies.
  • Answer radio, pager, and the resident request system.
  • Assume Care Specialist duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus six months of related work experience preferred, but not required.
  • For QMAP Care Specialist: Valid QMAP certification required.
  • Colorado Identification Card (required).
  • CPR Certificate/First Aid Certificate (preferred).
  • De-Escalation Training (preferred).

  • Colorado Adult Protective Services Background Check (CAPS)
  • Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) Check
  • Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusion List
  • Tuberculosis (Tb) Skin Test
  • N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Influenza Vaccination
  • Any other required vaccination

Pay

  • Care Specialist: $17.35 to $18.22 per hour.
  • QMAP Care Specialist: $17.85 to $18.74 per hour.

Schedule

  • Variable schedule of overnights from 10 PM to 8 AM.
  • Full-time schedule available: Friday to Monday, 10 PM to 8 AM.
