Overnight Assistant Manager Transportation

About the role

Join our team as an Assistant Transportation Manager and help ensure the efficient and economical delivery of Gordon Food Service products. No two days are the same, but typically you'll be involved in leadership, team management, operational management, and regulatory oversight.

Responsibilities

• Leadership - driver meetings, mentoring, motivating, ride-along/coaching trips, and training
• Team Management - interviewing, hiring, training, performance assessments, and recognition
• Operational Management - route balancing, dispatch, equipment assignments, backhaul scheduling
• Regulatory Oversight - DOT, Federal, State, and Local regulations
• Route Coverage - during vacations and absences

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL-T certification preferred)
• Two to three years of previous transportation experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
• Successfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Smith System (Keys to Safe Driving), and dispatch procedures
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)

Pay

Pay Range: $77,230-$120,494
