Overhead Crane Operator-New Construction

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads.
• Observes load hookup and determines the safety of the load.
• Manipulates or depresses crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of detects or malfunctions.
• Prepares daily inspection reports.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a crane operator.
• Must be able to pass company certification tests.
• Must have ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel frequently during the course of the day.
• Must have excellent vision either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, and a dusty, noisy work environment.
