About the role

The Outside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in increasing profitable sales through strong customer relationships and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, market, and promote products to new and existing customers
  • Generate sales to new customers and sell additional products to existing customers
  • Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan, track, and implement sales strategies
  • Assist customers with product selection and application using knowledge, internal specialists, and supplier representatives
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships
  • Resolve payment issues promptly with management, credit, and customers
  • Gather and report information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products, and market trends to management
  • Participate in professional development to improve selling skills and maintain technical capabilities
  • Coordinate sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote solutions
  • Utilize and champion digital tools, customer solutions, and services to gain a competitive advantage
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School or GED
  • Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers
  • Customer-oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
  • Product and application knowledge essential
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP systems and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM)
