About the role

The Outside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in increasing profitable sales through strong relationships with both new and existing customers. This position utilizes company resources and expertise to foster these connections and drive sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, market, and promote products to new and existing customers
  • Generate sales to new customers and upsell additional products to existing customers
  • Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan, track, and implement sales strategies
  • Assist customers with product selection and application, leveraging knowledge and external specialists
  • Identify customer objectives, requirements, and preferences to tailor solutions that meet their business goals
  • Communicate with customers and team members for product quotations and provide ongoing communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle
  • Resolve payment issues promptly with management, credit, and customers
  • Gather and report information about the company, competitors, pricing, products, and market trends to management
  • Participate in professional development to enhance selling skills and maintain product knowledge
  • Coordinate sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote solutions
  • Utilize and champion digital tools, customer solutions, and services to gain a competitive edge
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School or GED
  • Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude
  • Customer-oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Product and application knowledge essential
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP systems and CRM tools
