About the role

Charles D. Sheehy supplies pipe, valves, fittings to Mechanical Pros across New England. We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers within your assigned territory
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate PVF products and solutions
  • Possess strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new business opportunities to grow market share
  • Conduct regular on-site visits with customers to strengthen partnerships and uncover opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Inside Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, Product Data, and Distribution teams
  • Meet or exceed sales targets, margin goals, and performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and pipeline in CRM system
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–7 years of outside sales experience (distribution or industrial experience preferred)
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand product specifications
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly

  • Proactive sales professional who understands the PVF (Pipe, Valves, and Fittings) distribution industry
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Play a key role in expanding market share

  • CRM systems and pipeline management tools proficiency
  • Market trend monitoring, competitor activity, and pricing knowledge
