Outside Sales Representative
Responsibilities
- Possess and manage quality customers in an assigned area.
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules.
- Identify and target specific sales prospects, markets, and customers.
- Project the number of contacts to be made and follow up on new leads and referrals.
- Call on and sell products directly to customers in the assigned area.
- Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers, particularly key accounts.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and actively engage in planned prospecting activities.
- Prepare and present sales materials, quotes, proposals, pricing, credit terms, and renewal, extension, or alteration of service contracts.
- Oversee customer services through quality checks and other follow-up; identify and resolve customer concerns.
- Generate sales growth through new and existing customer opportunities and applications.
- Prepare reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against budget.
- Report on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity, including recommendations for product, service, pricing changes, and evaluation of competitive developments.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of sales experience, customer-focused, strong mechanical and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge & Ability: Effective communication in English (verbal and written), proficiency in math and computer operations, strong in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Educational: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, operations, or equivalent work experience.
- Additional Requirements: Must be able to travel up to 50% of time in US and/or Canada, update job knowledge, participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, network, and participate in professional organizations.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive, commitment to solve problems, “do not let a problem remain before the sunset,” solid and effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal), able to lift up to 50 pounds.
