Outside Plant Supervisor

About the role

Company: Blue Ridge Communications. This position involves the direct management, training and coordination of unit installers and repair technicians, controlling inventory, and monitoring, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting the HFC broadband structure and branch network design. The Outside Plant Manager maintains courteous professional relationships with BRC employees, resolves system issues with head end staff, and informs upper management of existing or potential issues.

Responsibilities

• Direct management, training and coordination of unit installers and repair technicians
• Controlling inventory
• Monitor, maintain, test and troubleshoot HFC broadband structure and branch network design
• Maintain courteous professional relationships between all BRC employees
• Play a significant role in resolving system issues by working with head end staff
• Inform upper management of any existing or potential issues when they arise
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
• 3 years’ work experience in related field
• Established residency in Pennsylvania
• Valid PA Driver’s License and good driving record
• Knowledge of HFC Broadband architecture
• Experience with coax tree and branch network design, construction, and troubleshooting
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting modem, phone and video
• Knowledge of fiber design, splicing, and troubleshooting
• FCC Proof of Performance, CLI, and system maintenance
• Understanding of power supply maintenance
• Understanding of test equipment and troubleshooting programs
• Experience with surveys and locates
• Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, and NECS codes as it relates to the cable industry

Schedule
