About the role

The ICIRR Immigrant Family Resource Program at SGA seeks a part-time individual to provide vital services to low-income immigrant families and others with limited English proficiency. The role involves community outreach, educational workshops, and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, establish, and nurture relationships with community-based organizations, schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Assist clients in developing social support networks and accessing necessary resources.
  • Conduct community education sessions about public benefits available to immigrants in Illinois.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to attend outreach events and prepare marketing materials.
  • Collect outreach sign-in logs and maintain an updated Outreach Activities binder for programmatic audits.
  • Follow up with individuals reached out to at outreach events to schedule appointments for services eligibility screening and document requirements.
  • Track outcomes from each outreach event to measure recruitment success.
  • Organize and facilitate community workshops to educate the community on accessing income supports services.
  • Interpret and facilitate communication at outreach events and workshops.
  • Participate in community events after normal business hours and on weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, associate's degree in social work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
  • Experience in conducting workshop development and group trainings.
  • Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Experience in case management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ability to network and develop professional partnerships.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in large public settings.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance.
