About the role

The Outreach Lead is primarily responsible for providing support and guidance at events and promotional opportunities within the partner’s service territory. This position will also provide energy-efficiency (EE) education, usage tips and tricks, and cross-promotion of EE offerings for customers. This role will identify and secure promotional opportunities regarding energy efficiency and introduce the various partner initiatives that pertain to the attending customer segment. The lead will work with and guide others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry. The Outreach Lead position also focuses on recruiting and engaging diverse customers by establishing relationships with local community-based organizations representative of diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership by managing day-to-day activities, event staff, and support, creatively meeting event goals.
  • Manage standard events (logistics, EAFs/Registrations, relationships) and coordinate event staffing across the partner service territory.
  • Develop an outreach and education plan with the OSP Program Manager and corporate Marketing Manager to target key market segments, maximizing the team’s attainment of efficiency goals, along with the involvement of agencies and partners which commonly provide support to communities and individuals from protected classes. Adjust the plan over time in response to changing demographics and market conditions.
  • Coordinate outreach activities requested or otherwise with the program manager, program partners, and community organizations.
  • Standardize and act as the “train-the-trainer” for customer education activities/tactics and event participation and support.
  • Continuously improve opportunities and ways to engage and educate customers.
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine event metrics.
  • Manage and support the energy force ambassador program including but not limited to curriculum development, training, and event support and oversight.
  • Provide a professional appearance appropriate for a representative of both Walker-Miller Energy and the Partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred in customer and community outreach.
  • Experience working in grassroots or non-profit organizations.
  • Previous experience performing proactive customer outreach activities.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of work and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to identify and resolve event and customer service issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel or present virtually 25-50% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Noise level is typically moderate.
  • Employee could be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and risk of potential shock.

Pay

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education, and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. A team member may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.

Compensation Range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
