What You Will Do
As a Senior Consultant supporting a Department of War project focused on military community and quality‑of‑life programs, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing high‑visibility outreach and training events for a government client.
- Event Planning & Execution: Support end‑to‑end planning of training sessions, directorate events, multi‑day conferences, roundtables, and stakeholder engagements.
- Client Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Work directly with government stakeholders to clarify event objectives, collect requirements, document needs, and ensure all planning aligns with program priorities.
- Venue & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with hotels, conference centers, and other venues to negotiate rates, secure meeting space, request A/V packages, review contracts, and coordinate onsite logistics.
- Coordination with Guidehouse Procurement: Share client budgets, requirements, and potential vendors/events spaces so procurement can negotiate rates and secure contracts.
- Logistics Management: Oversee room layouts, signage, registration, attendee tracking, scheduling, run‑of‑show documentation, materials preparation, shipping, and coordination with government and contractor partners.
- Onsite Event Support: Serve as the onsite logistics lead for key events; manage real‑time issue resolution; coordinate with venue teams, government representatives, program managers, and support staff.
- Outreach & Communications Support: Assist with strategic communication efforts to promote events, share updates, distribute materials, and coordinate messaging across directorates.
- Post‑Event Reporting: Conduct after‑action reviews, summarize lessons learned, track issues, compile feedback, and support continuous improvement of event planning processes.
