Outpatient Treatment Clinician - Behavioral Health - FT - Day

Full-time, non-exempt position on the first shift (days, less than 12 hours per shift) with a 40-hour workweek.

About the role

Outpatient Treatment Clinicians are professionals trained and licensed to provide psychotherapy services to patients and their families. This includes assessment and evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge of outpatient mental health patients, as well as referral to other psychiatric, psychological, and medical services as appropriate. Clinicians provide services in a clinic setting under a state-approved Clinical Supervision Plan while actively working toward licensure at the clinical level, operating under the supervision of the organization’s Clinical Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake and assessment of patients, including mental status exams, collection of psychosocial history, diagnosis of psychiatric presentations, and development of individualized treatment plans with measurable goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Develop discharge plans that support the patient at home or in the community.
• Utilize the DSM-V for accurate diagnosis and demonstrate familiarity with psychological reports, psychopharmacology, and treatment modalities for common mental health diagnoses (e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis).
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy as appropriate.
• Maintain a high standard of practice under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services/Clinical Supervisors, with treatment plans reviewed regularly.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission by assisting patients in identifying treatment goals, timelines, and realistic expectations regarding treatment and prognosis.
• Meet productivity standards and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate patient and clinic scheduling needs.
• Participate in and present at multidisciplinary team meetings when required.
• Adhere to organizational and department standards for punctuality, attendance, documentation, HIPAA, and corporate compliance while supporting the mission and goals of Stormont Vail Behavioral Health Services.
• Ensure services meet minimum requirements specified by CMS, Kancare, and other major insurance entities.
• Comply with all Stormont Vail Health policies, standards, mandatory training, and requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy.
• 1 year of experience in behavioral health care.
• Licensed as a Masters Social Worker (LMSW) by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (KSBSRB), or hold an LMLP, LPC, or LMFT license at the Master’s level.
• Must establish a state-approved Clinical Supervision Plan within 90 days of hire.

Work environment

This is a patient-facing, hybrid role with no supervisory or budget responsibilities. Clinicians may work in settings with occasional exposure to combative patients, infectious diseases, needle sticks, noise, and risk of exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include:

• Occasional balancing, carrying, crouching, handling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pulling (up to 50 lbs), pushing (up to 50 lbs), reaching (forward and overhead), sitting, standing, stooping, talking, and walking (1-3 hours each).
• Frequent eye/hand/foot coordination, fine motor grasping, gross hand grasping, hearing, and repetitive motions (3-5 hours each).
• Rare climbing (stairs/ladder), crawling, driving, operating foot controls, kneeling, and exposure to burns, chemicals, dust, electrical hazards, extreme temperatures, fumes, gases, hazardous drugs, mechanical hazards, poor ventilation, radiant energy, vibration, wet/humid conditions, and other atmospheric conditions (less than 1 hour each).

Remote work guidelines

• Workspace must be quiet, distraction-free, and compliant with all security and privacy standards.
• Stable access to electricity and a minimum of 25mb upload and internet speed.
• Full attention to job duties and communication during working hours.
• Adherence to break and attendance schedules agreed upon with supervisor.
• Compliance with Stormont Vail’s Remote Worker Policy and annual review/acknowledgment of the Remote Work Agreement.
