About the role

The outpatient therapist will be responsible for providing assessment and therapy services for both children and adults.

Essential Duties and Activities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as deemed necessary through evidence-based practice approaches.
  • Complete ongoing progress notes and other necessary documentation through an electronic health record.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Make appropriate internal and external referrals.
  • Complete behavioral health status exams.
  • Conduct and complete Biopsychosocial evaluations.
  • Develop treatment plans with clients.
  • Collect and enter demographic, insurance and other required information for registration.
  • Maintain compliance with all training requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in the field of mental health required.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the mental health field.
  • Certifications: LMHC, LCSW or LMFT required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Generally understands the psychopathology of both adults and children as it relates to the DSM diagnostic manual.
  • Capable of providing mental health diagnoses using DSM criteria.
  • Can perform therapy with a variety of modalities to include evidence-based practice approaches.
  • Capable of providing treatment for co-occurring disorders or willing to learn the required techniques and interventions to provide the therapy.
  • Possesses a high quality of written and verbal capabilities.
  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Manages one's time efficiently.
  • Written documentation through an electronic health record must be completed in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize various job functions.
  • Strong clinical documentation skills.

Work Environment

  • Fast paced work environment.
  • The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions such as communicable diseases and physical/verbal abuse from an out-of-control patient/client.

Technology Requirement

If you are not assigned a company-issued phone, you will be required to authorize the use of the Microsoft Authenticator app on your personal mobile device to access payroll and communication systems.
