Essential Functions
- Respond to all inquiry calls and referrals in a consistent and timely manner.
- Complete demographic and screening tool.
- Completes all data in Wellsky (EMR) for each referral/inquiry.
- Demonstrates excellent listening skills and provides appropriate information when necessary.
- Converts appropriate inquiries to assessments for outpatient services.
- Provides referrals when appropriate.
- Follows established processes to verify outpatient insurance benefits.
- Develops good rapport with outpatient staff at all facilities.
- Completes all tasks and processes necessary to initiate the assessment at the appropriate Oceans facility.
- Communicates with patients and families in manner sensitive to their age, disability and cultural needs.
Requirements
- Educational / Experience Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience handling inquiry calls, preferably in a call center environment for inpatient or outpatient Mental Health/Chemical Dependency services. Electronic Medical Record experience is preferred.
- Qualifications / Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to learn how to utilize an EMR. Possess a general understanding of mental health and substance abuse related conditions. Consistently communicates in a professional manner to promote trust, dignity and patient satisfaction. Must be able to adjust to a fast paced environment, pivot and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and thoroughly. Demonstrates good judgment and insight in all circumstances to know when to seek input and guidance from supervisor.
Work Environment
- This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere.
- Work require spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
