About the role

The role involves practicing physical therapy based on physician instructions and professional ethics. It covers various age groups including newborn through 12 years, 13 through 18 years, 19 through 64 years, and 65 years and above. The therapist evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, coordinates with the treatment team, and ensures patient safety during interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient history and extracts relevant information.
  • Interprets evaluation findings and discusses them with the patient, family, and treatment team.
  • Develops and implements treatment goals and plans.
  • Supervises physical therapists' assistants or aides in treatment procedures.
  • Coordinates treatment plans with the patient, family, and treatment team.
  • Maintains documentation in patient records.
  • Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans as needed.
  • Participates in discharge planning and patient education.
  • Reviews and documents services provided for quality and efficiency.
  • Attends and documents participation in staff meetings and in-service programs.
  • Participates in shared governance committees and provides in-service education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, with PA licensure from the State Board of Physical Therapy.
  • Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of general physical therapy experience is preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in computer software for documentation and record-keeping.
