About the role
The Outpatient Pharmacist - Specialty provides expert medication management and patient counseling in a retail pharmacy setting. Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure safe dispensation of complex therapies for specialized disease states, reviews clinical data, and ensures compliance with regulations. Responsible for supervising team performance, assigning tasks, and maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Dispense and review specialty medications ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Educate and counsel patients on medication use and management.
- Work with providers to streamline specialty product delivery.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory policies and standards.
- Manage and develop pharmacy staff, overseeing work performance.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in specialty or outpatient settings.
- PharmB, MScPhm, or PharmD degree required.
- Current Maryland Pharmacist License or eligibility.
