Outpatient Pharmacist

Role Overview This position involves providing comprehensive pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage guidance, drug interaction awareness, and preventive healthcare. Responsibilities encompass verifying prescriptions for safety and compliance, managing medication dispensing, and supporting pharmacy operations to optimize workflow, inventory, and financial performance. Key Duties Engage with customers to deliver exceptional service, resolve issues, and build strong relationships.Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and alternatives, referring to providers as needed.Perform drug therapy reviews, verify prescriptions, and manage medication therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.Maintain regulatory compliance, including proper handling of controlled substances and adherence to dispensing policies.Process insurance claims accurately, troubleshoot rejections, and coordinate with providers for clarification.Participate in clinical and wellness services, such as preventive health programs and community outreach.Assist in staff hiring, training, coaching, and supervision to foster a collaborative team environment.Stay current with pharmacy practices through continuous education and professional development.Manage inventory, process medication orders, and ensure accurate record-keeping.Provide drug information, training to interns, and contribute to departmental goals and committees. Qualifications & Skills Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience, with a B.S. or Pharm.D. degree.Active pharmacy licensure or eligibility, with licensure acquired within 120 days.Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer literacy skills.Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication management, and clinical practices.Preferred certifications include BLS/ACLS and advanced clinical training.Ability to interpret medication orders accurately and maintain high attention to detail.Experience with pharmacy automation, insurance processing, and community outreach is advantageous.
