About the role

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an Outpatient Palliative Care Physician/Associate Medical Director of Palliative Care Services located in Johnson City, New York. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, outpatient-focused (90% clinical / 10% Medical Director).

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of palliative care clinical models including considerations of design, business modeling, productivity, quality, experience, and equity; experience with new program development or expansion preferred but not required.
  • Experience in clinical teaching is desired.
  • Must be board certified/eligible and completed an ACGME accredited fellowship program.
  • Primary Department, Division, Or Unit: UHS Palliative Medicine.
  • Annual Compensation Range: $280,563 - $295,400.

Qualifications

  • Board certified/eligible in Palliative Medicine as well as pertinent medical specialty (ie Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.) and be able to maintain licensure in New York State.
  • Salary Range: $280,563 - $300,000 annually.

Pay

$280,563 - $295,400 annually

Skills

Must have strong clinical skills, including performing physical examinations, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests, identifying clinical problems, and formulating evidence-based care plans. Must be able to manage complex symptoms (pain, dyspnea, mood, nausea, functional decline) with both pharmacologic and integrative approaches. Must be able to lead goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning in partnership with patients, caregivers, and referring clinicians. Must be able to deliver patient-centered, values-aligned care in a supportive, team-based outpatient environment.
