About the role

Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy management organization that was founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We began our partnership with Texas Orthopaedic Associates in 2019 to provide management of their therapy services. ITC is searching for a Physical Therapist that is seeking to join an organization that seeks to “Elevate the Experience" as we encounter each patient we serve.

This career opportunity allows for a Physical Therapist to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to evaluate and treat a variety of surgical and non-operative patients. Exposure to a diverse caseload treating upper and lower extremity as well as spine patients. Therapist will administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
• Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
• Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
• Administers therapeutic exercises to improve strength, ROM, flexibility, and cardiovascular function.
• Instructs, motivates and assists patient to perform various physical activities to achieve functional goals.
• Administers treatments involving application of physical agents.
• Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
• Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.

Requirements

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
• Must have an active and current Physical Therapist License that allows you to practice in the state in which you work.
• Must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination and fulfill state requirements such as jurisprudence exam.
• Must be willing to work occasional weekend shifts in designated sites.
• Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to educate patients about their condition, treatments, and to communicate with patients’ families.
• Should also be compassionate and possess a desire to help patients.
