Outpatient Oncology Infusion Nurse

About the role

Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care according to established standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs, considering patient preferences and barriers to involvement.
• Works in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining alertness and safe practices at all times.

Requirements

• RN license required.
• Nursing diploma or associate's degree; bachelor’s preferred.
• No prior experience required; less than 2 years of experience preferred.
• Chemo certification and previous oncology experience are preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication, assessment, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
