Open to Pelvic Floor and other Specialties. Must be available to work 12 shifts/quarter. The Network Float Pool supports Inter-Campus Floating across HonorHealth, a nonprofit healthcare system serving the greater Phoenix area.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, administration, and oversight of evidence-based occupational therapy services for individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations. They promote goals of prevention, restoration of function, and enhancement of quality of movement and daily living skills.

  • Implements individualized treatment plans using skilled, evidence-based techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, functional mobility training, activities of daily living training, and modalities.
  • Provides verbal and written instructions to patients, caregivers, and family members.
  • Maintains current knowledge of occupational therapy techniques, DNV, and Medicare standards through continuing education.
  • Evaluates patients, synthesizes data, and establishes measurable, functional treatment plans with long and short-term goals and a defined discharge plan.
  • Performs ongoing evaluations of patient responses to treatment and adjusts plans as needed.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and billing sheets.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to discuss patient status, discharge plans, and equipment needs.
  • Communicates effectively with case managers, medical personnel, and other staff to optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to occupational therapist assistants and supervises their work.
  • Acts as a resource for therapy-related issues to assistive personnel and other departments.
  • Contributes to departmental needs, process improvements, recruitment, and retention efforts.
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-services, committees, and student preceptor/mentor programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited university (required).
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited university (preferred).
  • Six months of recent experience in a network float position (preferred).
  • Current Arizona Occupational Therapist license in good standing (required prior to employment).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
