Outpatient Hand Therapist

About the role

Hand Therapist or Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) position in outpatient orthopedics at HealthWorks in Morgantown, WV. The role provides per diem/PRN coverage with flexible weekday hours, including occasional evening hours until 7:00 p.m. The primary caseload includes upper extremity and hand conditions such as tendon injuries, sprains, strains, post‑operative fractures, and other orthopedic diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, develop plans of care, provide treatment, re‑evaluate, discharge, and communicate outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive, individualized treatment programs.
• Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients; enhance and expand client relations.
• Stay current with occupational therapy research and apply evidence‑based practice.
• Fabricate custom splints for pre‑ and post‑operative orthopedic cases.
• Maintain CPR certification and a valid state driver’s license.
• Demonstrate marketing experience to support referral growth.

Requirements

• Occupational Therapist license or eligibility in West Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of outpatient experience.
• Experience in hand therapy and custom splinting strongly preferred.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred but not required.
• New graduates with Level II fieldwork experience in hand therapy are encouraged to apply.
