Outpatient Dietitian

About the Role

The Registered Dietitian Specialist provides advanced medical nutrition therapy within specialty care areas, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process and diagnostic reasoning to support patients with complex health conditions. This role involves counseling, behavior change techniques, and the application of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The Specialist also mentors emerging dietitians and leverages nutrition technology to enhance care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process and diagnostic reasoning.
• Provide counseling and employ behavior change techniques for patients with complex health conditions.
• Utilize nutrition technology to support patient care and outcomes.
• Mentor and guide emerging dietitians in clinical practice.
• Apply evidence-based practices to improve patient health outcomes.
• Manage nutrition care across the continuum, including documentation and equipment management.
• Work across multiple clinic locations as required.

Requirements

Clinical Dietitian

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Licensure within six months of hire (if applicable in the state of practice).

Specialist Dietitian

• Demonstrated expertise in a specialty care area.
• Advanced certifications relevant to the specialty.
• Clinical experience in managing complex patient cases.

Skills

Physical Requirements
