About the Role

Under the direction of the Director of Outpatient and Substance Use Services, the Outpatient Clinician provides a wide variety of clinical services to mental health and/or substance use clients, including clinical case management, consultation, and education services to area schools, agencies, and the community at large.

Responsibilities

• Direct Clinical Services: Provides assessment and counseling to individuals and families with mental health and/or substance use problems. Services may include individual, family, group, or relationship counseling. Coordinates services with other agencies and providers. Facilitates appropriate referrals for other services whenever necessary. May provide specialized assessments/screening services based on professional concentration and training, such as psychological testing or substance use evaluations.
• If assigned to Substance Use services or related SUD grants, demonstrates competencies in screening, assessment, engagement, treatment planning, collaboration, referral, motivational interviewing, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other evidence-based counseling and professional ethics theories to provide effective care.
• Consultation and Education Services: Provides mental health and/or substance use consultation to the community at large, area agencies, the professional community, and/or schools as required. Consultation can be educational or evaluative in nature. Provides liaison services between sponsoring agencies to coordinate services to clients.
• Clinical Case Management and Social Support: Provides concurrent case management services on an as-needed basis, including service coordination with other agencies. Makes collateral contacts with family members or significant others, provides telephone support, social support services for locating and developing care services, treatment planning sessions, and Bamboo Health follow-up.
• Clinical Record-Keeping: Initiates and maintains timely and thorough record-keeping and administrative documentation, including client-specific assessments, case services, and progress notes, all done collaboratively. Completes time sheets and maintains accurate and complete schedules.
• Administrative, Agency, and Clinical Team Meetings: Attends and actively participates in necessary coordinative, administrative, and clinical meetings designed to inform, problem-solve, and coordinate services and programs.

Requirements

• A minimum of a master’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or a related human services field.
• Position requires the clinician to be licensed in Vermont or Vermont OPR license-eligible and Rostered.
• Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
