Outboard Motor Maintenance/Overhaul Technician - LOGSU-1
Job Overview
The OBM & MAROPS Equipment Support Technician provides maintenance, overhaul, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and operational support for maritime craft, outboard motors, trailers, and associated maritime equipment supporting Logistics Support Unit One (LOGSU-1).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform overhaul, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of outboard motors ranging from 15HP to 300HP.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair Safety Support Craft, Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC), Maritime Reconnaissance Vehicles, and associated equipment.
- Perform aluminum welding repairs as required.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair boat trailers and trailer components.
- Remove and replace trailer bearings.
- Conduct operational testing and troubleshooting of maritime craft on the water.
- Perform advanced marine electrical repairs and support radar installations.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair MAROPS equipment including ladders, hooks, and associated systems.
- Maintain inventories of tools, repair parts, and hazardous materials.
- Support 3M maintenance programs and documentation requirements.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on maritime craft and equipment.
- Travel TDY/TAD in support of operational and training requirements.
Minimum Requirements/Education
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum five (5) years of Outboard Motor Maintenance and Overhaul experience.
- Suzuki, BRP, and Wing Inflatables factory-authorized technician certification.
- Material Maintenance Management (3M) Maintenance Man qualification.
- 3M QA Craftsman qualification.
- 3M Work Center Supervisor experience.
- Experience troubleshooting marine mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience supporting Navy maritime operations.
- Advanced marine electrical and radar installation experience.
- Aluminum welding experience.
- Experience supporting CRRCs, Maritime Reconnaissance Vehicles, and Safety Support Craft.

Frequent TDY/TAD travel required.
