Part-time (25 hours/week) • Monday–Friday, approximately 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM • Reports to Youth Program Success Coach • Supervises Youth Development Professionals and Assistant Youth Development Professionals • Eligible for a $1,500 hiring bonus

Position summary

The Site Coordinator ensures the success of an out-of-school-time program for elementary students by overseeing daily operations, maintaining a safe and compliant environment, and fostering academic and social growth. The role includes creating schedules, developing lesson plans, supervising students, and coaching Youth Development Professionals. A welcoming atmosphere for staff and students is central to this position.

Essential functions

  • Programming: Develop daily and weekly site schedules; plan and facilitate at least four lessons per month; assign staff to lessons, review plans, and provide feedback; assist students with personal hygiene (e.g., diaper changes, toileting, handwashing); implement behavior policies and plans; purchase supplies within budget; communicate daily with parents; educate parents on check-in/out and enrollment; ensure safe transportation home, including van driver training and substitute driving as needed.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain site binders with student information; accurately record attendance and enrollment changes; maintain snack records and other required reports.
  • Supervisory: Plan and facilitate weekly site meetings; review and approve staff timeclocks; complete annual reviews for Youth Development Professionals; create weekly staff schedules; report absences and staffing issues; monitor staff-to-child ratios.
  • General: Attend scheduled meetings and required trainings; complete licensing and organizational trainings on time; report safety, maintenance, or equipment concerns; maintain confidentiality; report suspected child abuse or neglect.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (or similar) with one year supervising ≥4 school-aged children; or two years of college in education plus one year of such supervision; or two years of verifiable experience caring for and supervising ≥4 school-aged children.

Skills & abilities

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with school staff, students, parents, and the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to make quick, independent decisions and exercise appropriate discretion.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical demands

  • Daily: standing, walking, sitting, reaching, speaking, climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
  • Daily lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
