Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions
  • Create an engaging and interactive learning environment that fosters student comprehension and retention
  • Participate in curriculum design and assessment, ensuring content remains relevant and up to date
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and professional development
  • Administer assessments and evaluations to gauge student understanding and progress
  • Engage in scholarly activities to contribute to the academic community and maintain currency in the field, as applicable
  • Participate in faculty meetings and organizational committees, contributing to the continuous improvement of osteopathic education

Requirements

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a COCA-accredited medical school, with an active medical license for the state of Idaho
  • (Transitioning DOs to the state of Idaho must have an active license within 3 months of hire)
  • Board certification or board eligible by the appropriate AOA specialty board, as required
  • Experience teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) / Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM)
  • Experience with curricular and instructional design and training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation preferred
  • Experience with curricular and instructional design and instructional technologies is desirable
  • A team player who values collaboration, mutual support, and team cohesion

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team and flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across disciplines with administrators, faculty and students
