OSD Specialist
About the role
As an Overage, Shortage & Damage (OSD) Specialist, you will help protect inventory accuracy and product quality across the Distribution Center. You will research and resolve inbound shipping discrepancies, partner with manufacturers and internal teams, update purchase orders and inventory records, and help ensure customers receive the right parts when they need them.
Responsibilities
- Research, document, and resolve overages, shortages, damaged shipments, and part identification discrepancies for inbound inventory.
- Update purchase orders, inventory records, handling notes, and internal systems to reflect accurate resolutions and inventory status.
- Communicate with manufacturers, Purchasing, Accounting, Post PO, Receiving, Inventory, Kitting, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent repeat issues.
- Investigate root causes of OSD issues, including manufacturer errors, duplicate purchase orders, receiving errors, missing parcels, stock discrepancies, and part number changes.
- Maintain OSD reports, reconcile information for Accounting, process manufacturer returns in SAP, and submit required loss notifications.
- Support Distribution Center teams by answering daily receiving questions, assisting satellite fulfillment centers, documenting errors, and helping improve receiving and OSD processes.
- Review and verify product information, including images, web details, handling instructions, stock counts, and floor-location OSDs once resolutions are complete.
Requirements
- A reliable team player who is excited to build a career within the Parts Town Distribution Center.
- Comfortable using computers and navigating multiple systems throughout the day.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Available to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with Saturdays as needed.
- Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ERP experience such as SAP a plus.
Qualifications
- Genius-level knowledge of original equipment manufacturer parts is preferred, but unique enthusiasm and fresh ideas from different backgrounds are valued.
- Comfortable moving around for long periods of time and consistently lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
Skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and communicate effectively with various teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions and documentation.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $43,993.80 – $53,720.20 ($21.15 – $25.82 hourly) annually which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay for performance company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role.
Schedule
You will work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with Saturdays as needed.
