Job Summary

MVHS is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Total Joint Surgeon. The current team of 3 orthopedic surgeons and 5 APPs is expanding the orthopedic department. The surgeon will handle all aspects of total hip and knee joint surgery, including primary and revision procedures, trauma, infections, etc. General call is required but can be shared with an orthopedic trauma service.

Position/Community Highlights

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED: - Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship - Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified - Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care - Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards - Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise - Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise - Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage - Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops - Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise - Ability to work both independently and in a team environment - Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements - Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress - Effective verbal and written communication skills

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED: - Current NYS Certification/Licensure - Federal DEA Certification - Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
