Orthopedic Sports Medicine - Full Time PA

Position Overview

This position supports an orthopedic surgical sports physician and includes a blend of outpatient clinic and operating room responsibilities, with participation in a shared night and weekend call rotation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the outpatient clinic and operating room
• Aid with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative management
• Serve as first assistant in the operating room
• Conduct patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and care coordination
• Support attending physicians with call coverage and patient management
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, and the broader MSKI care team
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient experience
• Participate in night and weekend call rotation

Candidate Qualifications

• Prior orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred
• Active North Carolina licensure (Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)
• Must possess or be eligible for DEA licensure
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program required
• NCCPA certification (PA) or national board certification (Acute Care NP) preferred
