About the role
The Orthopaedic Technician II position is located at UW Medical Center-Montlake - Bone and Joint Center in Seattle’s University District. This full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Day Shift position offers career growth opportunities and convenient access to public transportation.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician with complex casting, arthroscopic procedures, pin replacement/removal, and external fixator removal
- Maintain patient monitoring and triage for cast-related issues
- Order and maintain inventory of durable medical equipment (DME)
- Assist with procedures and medical exams, ensuring signed physician orders are completed before x-rays
- Transport patients as needed
Requirements
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or eligible for Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered credential
- Completion of Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) Certification program accredited by NBCOT or Registered Orthopedic Technologist Program accredited by ASOP
- One year of direct patient care experience
Qualifications
- Completion of Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) Certification program accredited by the National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists, Inc. (NBCOT) or the Registered Orthopedic Technologist Program accredited by the American Society of Orthopedic Professional (ASOP)
- One year of direct patient care experience
