Orthopaedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner Supervisor

About the Role

This leadership position involves overseeing daily operations and providing clinical care within an orthopaedic surgery department. The role supervises a team of 22 Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants), focusing on operational management, workflow optimization, and quality improvement across multiple sites.

The position balances administrative duties with clinical practice (approximately 50/50 split) and does not include operating room responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise APP team members, including onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
• Manage clinic workflows, scheduling, templates, and staffing coverage
• Drive operational and patient care improvements through collaboration with physicians and management
• Implement best-practice models for APP utilization and professional development

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare leadership and team supervision
• Strong organizational, communication, and management skills
• Knowledge of HR and labor contracts to manage change and complex priorities
• Clinical expertise in orthopaedic outpatient care
