Rite of Passage Team is hiring an ORR Youth Care Worker (English/Spanish) at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona.
About the role
Coach Counselors provide for the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development. They provide a supportive environment, monitor and document student behaviors and activities, and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities. Coach Counselors collaborate with professional staff to support each student’s treatment plan and perform standard paraprofessional duties related to program operations. They typically report to a Group Leader or higher authority, with operational supervision provided by a Senior Coach Counselor.

Responsibilities
- Provide for the physical, personal, and health needs of students through individual counseling and skill development
- Support behavioral, social, physical, and educational growth
- Monitor and document student behaviors and activities
- Assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities
- Collaborate with professional staff to support each student’s treatment plan
- Perform standard paraprofessional duties related to program operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a bilingual (English/Spanish) assessment
- Minimum 1 year of employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents
- Must meet requirements to be an eligible ROP driver
- Possess a current State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
- Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Schedule
- Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday
- Work schedule is based on program needs
Pay
$23.74 per hour
