About the role

Plural is hiring an Originations Lead to run the sourcing of new renewable energy companies onto the Plural platform. This role sits at the intersection of clean energy finance, capital markets, and early-stage company building. You will own the top of the origination funnel — identifying and building relationships with renewable energy developers and project sponsors who need to raise capital, then working closely with Plural's brokerage team to bring those opportunities to life.

Responsibilities

  • Origination & Pipeline Development — Proactively identify and pursue renewable energy developers, project sponsors, and asset owners who need to raise equity, tax equity, preferred equity, or senior debt.
  • Asset & Portfolio Sourcing — Identify and pursue renewable energy assets and portfolios that are candidates for tokenization on the Plural platform, independent of an active capital raise.
  • Relationship Management — Develop and maintain deep relationships with CFOs, VPs of Finance, and Heads of Capital Markets at renewable energy companies. Be the person they call when they are thinking about their next raise.
  • Market Coverage — Represent Plural at clean energy industry events, conferences, and trade associations (RE+, ACP, SEIA, etc.), building deal flow and brand recognition simultaneously.
  • Initial Qualification & Diligence — Conduct first-pass evaluation of inbound and sourced opportunities before the structuring team goes deep.
  • Product Feedback & Development — Serve as the voice of the developer in product conversations. Gather requirements from prospective and existing clients, work directly with the product team to help shape the roadmap.
  • Market Intelligence — Feed insights back to the product and brokerage teams on what developers are asking for, what terms they need, and where the market is moving.

Requirements

Experience — 6–10 years in clean energy finance, project finance, investment banking, capital markets, or a closely adjacent field. Early-stage startup experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Network — You have warm, genuine relationships with decision-makers at renewable energy developers who trust your judgment and take your calls. This is the most important thing.

Entrepreneurial Mentality — You enjoy building relationships from scratch, following up persistently, and converting interest into commitment.

Domain Fluency — You understand how renewable energy deals are structured — tax equity, ITC transfers, preferred equity, senior secured debt — well enough to have a credible first conversation.

Builder Orientation — Comfortable operating with minimal process and high ambiguity. You will write the originations playbook, not follow one.

Communication — Able to represent Plural credibly with sophisticated counterparties and translate complex financing concepts clearly.

Pay

Base salary of $130,000–$195,000 depending on experience, along with performance bonus tied to origination milestones and meaningful equity in an early-stage, Paradigm-backed company.

Schedule

Must be San Francisco based. Flexibility for hybrid. Periodic domestic travel required.
