Originations Executive

About the role

We are seeking an Originations Executive with diversified project finance expertise, preferably with experience in Distributed Energy and Dedicated Infrastructure (DE&DI”) Project Finance, to join the Siemens Financial Services group. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the origination and structuring of project finance transactions for distributed energy and dedicated infrastructure projects consistent with the business unit strategy.

Responsibilities

• Leading the origination and execution of distributed energy and dedicated infrastructure project finance transactions
• Actively marketing Siemens Financial Services within the distributed energy and dedicated infrastructure industries to facilitate deal flow and new business opportunities
• Initiating, building, and maintaining long-term relationships with developers, sponsors, and lead banks
• Performing due diligence activities, negotiating term sheets and documentation on transactions, presenting new business opportunities to senior management and credit committees
• Understanding external regulatory matters within approved markets for business
• Attending bank meetings, industry events and conferences to maintain and expand client network and remain well-informed of market trends
• Identifying relevant transaction risks and negotiating appropriate structural mitigants
• Reviewing, understanding, and summarizing loan and project documents including third-party consultant reports, legal due diligence and credit documentation
• Engaging and liaising with third-parties (consultants, legal counsel, etc.) to facilitate technical due diligence and documentation processes
• Creating internal memos, presenting opportunities to senior level management / credit committees and facilitating internal credit approval
• Ensuring an overall acceptable prosecution of an active financing from mandate to close
• Mobilizing internal resources and working within company and business unit policies, procedures and processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a similar field
• 5+ years of experience within the project finance group of a lending institution, preferably a bank, insurance company, or commercial finance lender active in similar markets
• 5+ years of experience with a track record of originating and closing project finance transactions or transactions of equivalent complexity
• 5+ years of experience with networking and/or ability to build strong relationships within the distributed energy and dedicated infrastructure industries
• 5+ years of experience with understanding the distributed energy and dedicated infrastructure project finance market
• 5+ years of experience with successful negotiating of term sheets and financing documentation
• Existing network of key industry players, including sponsors, developers, and lead banks
• 5+ years of experience with financial modeling skills
• 5+ years of experience with the ability to develop and provide solutions and address customer needs
• 5+ years of experience with the ability to structure standard and complex financial product offerings
• 5+ years of experience with an understanding of risk profiles and appropriate risk-adjusted returns
• 5+ years of experience with relationship management, selling, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to travel, meet with clients/prospects, attend industry events, and conferences
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., along with competency in leveraging AI to enhance productivity

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree preferred. Ability to learn complex industry and transaction structures. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Strong writing skills are critical. Ability to work within a team environment, combined with the flexibility to undertake changing roles as circumstances dictate. Detail-oriented work ethic with the ability to deliver quality work under significant time pressures. Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve. Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds, cultures, styles, abilities, and motivations.

• The pay range for this position is $135,303 - $231,948 annually with a target incentive of 100% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
