Orientation Trainer

Overview

Long Prairie Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking an Orientation Trainer for its Long Prairie, MN plant.

Responsibilities

• Undergo I-9 and iCIMS training to expedite the onboarding process.
• Facilitate new‑hire orientation by presenting or coordinating classroom and hands‑on sessions covering safety processes, food‑safety procedures, and other facility‑wide methods.
• Monitor new hires during the week‑long onboarding period and make recommendations to management or Human Resources regarding training, concerns, and continued employment.
• Familiarize yourself with company policies, processes, and procedures, and communicate them clearly to new employees.
• Promote a positive rapport with new hires, peers, and management.
• Teach, demonstrate, and reinforce the company’s commitment to safety and quality of training.
• Assist with annual employee training (lock‑out/tag‑out, heavy machinery, harassment, safety, food safety, etc.).
• Maintain, distribute, and assist with all necessary paperwork.
• Support employee development related to job‑skill acquisition, proper use and care of protective equipment, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in safety and communication meetings and other events; provide translation as needed.
• Participate in and potentially lead various Human Resources‑based events.
• Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly departmental clerical tasks.
• Stock and re‑order various items periodically.
• Maintain total confidentiality to prevent disclosure of sensitive information.

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to access all areas of the plant in any environmental condition.
• Effective communication in Haitian Creole and either English or Spanish.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of UKG, iCIMS, or similar HRIS/ATS.
• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• At least six months of experience in an HR setting.
• At least six months of prior training experience.

• Detail‑oriented to ensure orientation procedures are effective and timely.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
• Ability to convey a professional image to employees.
• Willingness and ability to instruct, coach, and lead others effectively.
• Self‑motivation, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and drive.
• Willingness to learn additional skills as needed.

• Base hourly range: $21.75 – $23.10.
