Orderly

About the role

The Patient Support Orderly provides assistance to nursing and testing units and other hospital areas for patient‑related activities, including transportation of patients, patient items, and clinical equipment; lifting/boosting patients; setting up traction; and performing direct‑care tasks such as ECGs, Code Blue, Code 8, other emergencies, and post‑mortem care and transport. The role also ensures that equipment needed by nursing units is properly assembled, cleaned, maintained, and delivered.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, patient items, and clinical equipment
• Lift and boost patients
• Set up traction and other direct‑care activities as trained
• Perform ECGs, respond to Code Blue, Code 8, and other emergencies
• Provide post‑mortem care and transport
• Assemble, clean, maintain, and deliver equipment needed by nursing units

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• CPR and AED training/certification (or previous patient care experience preferred)
• CPR/AED training to be completed within the first 60 days of hire
• MOAB training to be completed within the first 6 months of hire
