Order Selector - Forklift

About the Role

Shimano North America Holding, Inc. is a global company offering top labels and brands in the sporting community. We are seeking an Order Selector (Forklift) to join our Distribution Center team. This is an entry-level position focused on efficiently handling merchandise flow in an accurate, productive, and safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Pick products per pick ticket requirements, maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and 5S practices.
• Pick orders from the carousel, main, flow racks/pick module, and other areas using RF scanners.
• Operate Crown forklift stock pickers and reach lifts as primary picking equipment.
• Read orders for shipping information, special instructions, product location, and quantity accurately.
• Perform cycle counting and inventory control.
• Work overtime and in other areas as needed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions for safety, work policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products and AS400 knowledge.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and perform basic mathematics.
• Understand and respond to instructions in English for safety and work-related purposes.

Working Conditions

The role is primarily indoors in a warehouse environment with limited heating or air conditioning. The warehouse temperature may match outdoor conditions. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and be occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock. Noise levels are usually moderate.

Physical Demands

• Seldom lift from overhead or below the waist.
• Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, or kneel.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers; and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Continuously sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, and operate a computer, calculator, or telephone.

Machines, Tools, and Equipment

• Frequently use copier, fax, and 10-key calculator.
• Continuously use writing instruments, computer, and telephone.
• Continuously operate standup reach, propane sit-down, and picking lift forklifts.
