About the role
This position is responsible for verification of product quality, workmanship, and other factors above standard quality. Provides feedback to Line Leaders and Assistant Reviewer of discrepancies and makes recommendations for corrections.
Responsibilities
- Enter data into AX system.
- Unload meat trucks at multiple locations.
- Verify incoming materials.
- Assist the shipping department with the movement of finished packaged goods to the customer/consumer.
- Pick orders, load/unload trucks, rotate product, and participate in inventory counting.
- Cross-train in all areas of the Shipping and Receiving department; work in Receiving as needed.
- Use basic computer knowledge in MS Office products as well as AS/400.
- Work in Warehouse Management System, including using an RF gun to track inventory levels.
- Work overtime frequently during peak production periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain responsibility for work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Report all food safety-related problems to the manager and QA department to initiate immediate action.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- 1-3 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience.
- Basic understanding of GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs.
- Good oral and written communication skills for interaction across all levels of the organization.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Strong knowledge of AS/400 and AX software.
- Certified in forklift operation; ability to use other industrial equipment as needed.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record (CDL preferred).
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Stand/walk for 8-9 hours per day.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Bend, twist, stoop, squat, and reach above shoulders as needed for daily responsibilities.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
- Work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
- Work overtime during peak production periods.
