Order Picker - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Pick all pieces of merchandise into a tote or box for the stores’ order in a particular area.
• Work at or above floor level within multi‑level modules.
• Keep work area neat and organized, adhering to all DC housekeeping practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor, Lead, or Shift Manager.
• Reassignment to other departments as needed.
• Proceed down aisles using totes or cardboard boxes to select and remove merchandise from shelves according to IP panels or picking documents.
• Affix pricing labels/EAS tags in the correct position on merchandise where applicable and place non‑priced item labels in the tote.
• Pack merchandise into totes properly, banding small loose items when needed.
• Notify the Stocker when merchandise on the shelf needs replenishment.
• Notify the Lead when merchandise is not available for picking.
• Affix Hazmat stickers on totes where applicable.
• Wrap glass merchandise in bubble wrap when applicable.
• Pack merchandise in totes to avoid product damage.
• Close tote or tape box and push the completed tote onto the conveyor.
• Snap cover on completed tote, seal tote, sign barcode and push on conveyor.
• Discard all cardboard and paper into the trash conveyor.
• Complete and submit daily paperwork as required.
• Meet all LMS standards applicable to the department.

Requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally.
• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, reach, and stoop on a continuous basis.
• Ability to frequently and repetitively lift 35 pounds, occasionally up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be certified or able to become certified on all equipment needed to complete job tasks.
• Able to work within a team and independently with minimal supervision to meet established schedules and deadlines.
• Must be able to work overtime as required to ensure all stores are serviced according to the daily schedule.

Schedule

Monday‑Thursday: 5 am – 2 pm; Friday: 5 am – 9 am. Anticipated weekly hours: 40. Full‑time position.

Pay

Starting rate: $17.00 per hour. Typical pay range for this role: $16.00 – $23.56 per hour (base hourly rate or annual salary, depending on the compensation structure).
